Datamining eighteenth-century newspapers can uncover verse from that era. Jennifer Batt of the University of Bristol discusses how analyzing digitized archives of newspapers from the 1700s using computational techniques can find poems and other verse embedded in these historical documents. Mining these archives computationally allows researchers to discover more poetry and lyrics from the eighteenth century than searching them manually would.
