3. B.PHARMACY
A student after securing admission shall pursue the under graduate programme in B.Pharm. in a minimum
period of four academic years (8 semesters)
The minimum required attendance in aggregate of all the subjects is 80%.
Students whose shortage of attendance below 80% in any semester are not eligible to take their end
examinations of that semester. They get detained and their registration for that semester will be cancelled.
They will not be promoted to the next semester.
Promotion Rules
1 First year to second year Regular course of study of first year
2 Second year to third year
 Must have passed all the subjects/ courses up to I Year II Semester from all the relevant regular and
supplementary examinations, whether the student takes those examinations or not.
3 Third year to fourth year
Must have passed all the subjects/ courses up to II Year II Semester from all the relevant regular and supplementary
examinations, whether the student takes those examinations or not.

The details of the end semester question paper pattern are as follows,
The end semester examinations will be conducted for 75 marks consisting of two parts viz.
i) Part- A for 25 marks, ii) Part - B for 50 marks.
Part-A is compulsory question which consists of fifteen sub-questions. The first ten sub questions are of
Objective type/ Multiple Choice Questions, 2 from each unit and carry 1 mark each. The next five sub-questions
are Short Answer Questions one from each unit and carry 3 marks each.
Part-B consists of five Long Answer Questions (numbered from 2 to 6) carrying 10 marks each. Each of these
questions is from one unit and may contain sub-questions.

Examination. –
(1) Each examination may be held twice every year. The first examination in a year shall be the
annual examination and the second examination shall be supplementary examination.
(2) The examinations shall be of written and practical carrying maximum marks for each part of a
subject as indicated in

Eligibility for appearing Examination:-
◦ All Pharm.D Students must secure not less than 80% of attendance in the classes held both in theory
and in practical separately in each subject.

Mode of examinations:-
◦ A Student who fails in theory or practical examination of a subject shall re-appear both in theory and
practical of the same subject.
◦ A student shall not be declared to have passed examination unless he or she secures at least 50% marks
in theory and practical examination
◦ A student who fails more than two subjects in an Annual examination leads to detention. He/She may
not be promoted to next year.
◦ For Pharm.D they will be having three Mid Exams in which any best of two Mid Exam Marks will be
consider.
◦ The students securing 60% marks or above in aggregate in all subjects in a single attempt at the
Pharm.D course examination shall be declared to have passed in first class.
◦ Students securing 75% marks or above in all subjects in a single attempt shall be declared to have
passed with distinction.
