Increased awareness of ongoing sexual harassment in the workplace has raised questions about effectiveness of preventive efforts utilized to date. The transformative nature of today’s workforce has raised challenges to inter-personal, inter-gender and inter-generational relations not previously or adequately addressed. To encourage more robust and effective prevention efforts for workplace sexual harassment, this presentation considers new ideas and alternate methods that promise to increase awareness of respectful workplace standards and effectively demonstrate appropriate behavior for all worksite parties. In recognition that conventional system-wide employee education, management training efforts and existing awareness efforts have often been inadequate to meet the current expectations of today’s multi-gender, multi-generational global workforce, a more sophisticated and sensitive educational approach is needed which both articulates and provides examples of acceptable interpersonal work relations and zones of respectful treatment and opportunity for all.

In facing the change in the era of globalization, giving feedback cannot be overstated, particularly in the transformation of the present leaders. In the context of education, leaders must foster a culture of constructivefeedback to help followers developing their potential and talents and improving their work performance. Feedback delivered either formally or informally, helps to improve the performance of followers. Therefore, the feedback environment is believed to play an important role to improve the feedback interventions in organizations. Global assessment of the feedback environment focused on the followers’ perception on the source credibility, feedback quality, feedback delivery, favorable feedback, unfavorable feedback, source availability, and promoting feedback seeking (Steelman, Levy, & Snell, 2004). Previous studies explained that the feedback environment encourages behavior feedback on job performance among followers, integrate the followers in the social group at work, and identify their behavior with the expectations and standards fixed. In addition, the study also found that feedback environment that is conducive to increase the ability of individuals in accomplishing the task given. Indirectly, educators with high teaching self-efficacy will view the task as a challenge while educators with low self-efficacy will feel the challenge as a threat to themselves. Thus, it is believed that feedback environment particularly will be able to generate high self-efficacy among the educators.

This study aims to identify the level of affect- and cognition-based trust in the leaders and describes the psychometric properties of the instrument of trust against the leaders modified according to the situation and the uniqueness of the organization’s management system of education in Malaysia. A total of 19 items in Malay language translation which has been modified from the original instrument Affect- and Cognition-based Trust built by McAllister (1995) were used for this study. Data for this study were obtained from 251 randomly selected lecturers from four polytechnics. The results of factor analysis and obtained two factors explained 73.1 percent of the variance changes. Meanwhile, the level of trust in the leaders through descriptive analysis found that two dimensions of trust in leaders based on the affective and cognitive based trust showed high level from the perspective of the lecturers. These results demonstrate the reliability of the instrument modified on trust in leaders for this study could represent a desired two good dimensions as the original version of McAllister (1995) and provide strong justification for using the instrument in the education organizations in Malaysia. In practice, this finding strengthen the organizational support for increasing the potential among the followers.

Service-delivery models are critical to the success of the research enterprise. To be effective in service delivery, it is necessary to gather the appropriate data and assess the needs of the researchers and staff. This can be accomplished through regular communication with the target population and actively obtaining specific feedback on all areas of research administration services. Gaining support and endorsement from upper level management is critical for the success of service-delivery models. It is also important to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of implemented service-delivery models especially as the needs of the target population change and as regulations and requirements change. The evaluation findings can be used to determine if and what improvements need to be made to service-delivery models.
