This document provides an introduction and overview of a course on the Sociology of Youth. The course code is 16B1NHS531 and will be offered in the 6th semester from January to June 2022 for 3 credits. The course aims to help students understand youth culture from various sociological perspectives, examine issues concerning youth, and analyze societal problems related to youth. The syllabus is divided into 7 modules covering topics like youth identities, socialization of youth, and changing perspectives on youth culture. Students will be evaluated through tests, assignments, presentations and participation. Recommended reading materials on the subject are also listed.
