 • You have to build relationships and credibility in order to get people to
      share your Tweets
 • Be patient; it takes time to build a strong following

 • Don’t try to be everything to everyone

 • Don’t overuse hashtags – hashtags are used to join conversations

 • Don’t put the same message on all platforms; they are all different
      communities and different etiquette
 • Include your Twitter handle in your Facebook info section

 • Download Twitter app

 • Create lists to watch certain people

Tips & Tricks

  • You can sign up to get SMS notifications on your phone when a
       particular person tweets
  • Twitter is not Facebook

  • Don’t start a Tweet with a link. Put it near the end of your Tweet

  • When you are talking directly to someone start with @name

  • Use bit.ly to shorten links and save space

  • Understand the difference between spamming and frequency;
       Tweet often
  • Change your home page to Twitter as a reminder to stay active

  • Stay positive
