14. • Apply Direct Pressure on
External Wounds With
Sterile Cloth or Your Hand,
Marinating Pressure Until
Bleeding Stops.
• After Bleeding Stops, Bind
Wound With Tight Bandage
And Apply Ice Pack With
Direct Pressure For 10
Minutes.
16. External bleeding:
• outside the body when blood
moves through a break in the
skin.
Internal bleeding:
• inside the body when blood
leaks from blood vessels or
organs.
17. CONTROLLING EXTERNALBLEEDING
1. Direct pressure:-can be apply by:-
• Hand of first aider
• Pressure dressing
• Pressure to be applied for 10 to 30
Minutes.
• After control, apply firm bandage.
• Don’t remove dressing.

pressure.

WHAT CAUSESA NOSE BLEED?
• Pre-existing conditions
• Blood –thinning medication
• Dry air(winter)
• Picking ur nose
• Frequent usage of nasal
spray
Means bleeding form nostrils, nasal cavity
and nasopharynx .
20. The do and don’ts for first aid treatment
DON’T
• Do not lean back.
• Leaning back can be
harmful as the blood could
block the windpipe,
blocking the airway.
DO
• Sit in a comfortable upright
position and lean forward
slightly.
• Then pinch nose just below
the bony nose bridge.
• Once the bleeding is
controlled, do not blow your
nose then apply ice pack.
21. CONTROLLING INTERNAL BLEEDING
• Apply DRSABCD.
• CALL 108
• Control any external
bleeding.
• Treat for shock.
• Nil by mouth.

elevated.

muscle while it is still
painful.

sit down, rest.

perform CPR.

58. FIRST AID FOR A HEAD INJURY
• Call 108
• Protect the Victim’ s Airway,
Check Airway And Breathing.
• Apply Pressure to any Scalp
Wounds That Are Bleeding .
• Watch For Vomiting.
• Lay Them on the Floor With
Head and Shoulder’s Slightly
Raised.
60. • Breathing difficulties can range from being short of breath,
unable to take a deep breath, gasping for air, or feeling like
the victim are not getting enough air.
61. If someone is having breathing difficulty,
immediately call 108.
1. Check the persons airway, breathing and
pulse. If necessary, begin CPR.
2. Loosen any tight clothing.
3. Help the person use any prescribed
medication(asthma).
4. Do not give the person food or drink.
5. Do not place a pillow under the persons
head.
62. DROWNING
• Drowning is usually defined as death from asphyxia within 24
hours of submersion in water.
• Near drowning refers to survival beyond 24 hors after a submersion
episode.

FIRST AID
• Remove the victim from
water.
• Clean the mouth from sands
and other foreign bodies.
• Put him on the floor and raise
his body.
• Start C.P.R.
• Call for medical help.
64. CHOCKING
• Chocking is defined as “A
foreign object that is stuck in the
pharynx or trachea that causes a
blockage of or muscular spam in
the airway.

1. Lean the person forward
slightly and stand behind him
or her.
2.Make a fist with
one hand. Put your
arms aroundthe
person.
3.Make a quick, hard
movement, inward and
upward.
