 The genre of music that my artist will be performing would be indie/alternative
rock, suiting to the genre of my magazine ‘Scene’. My artist won’t be portrayed
as a new artist, as she will be promoting the release of her sophomore album,
therefore there giving the audience the impression that she already has a solid
fanbase.
 My artist will be styled mainly in black clothing, with some appearances of red
and white. I chose this as wearing all black is becoming more current, even
outside of the rock genre, and looks simplistic whilst still looking aesthetically
pleasing. Despite this, black and red can be reflections of rock and thus suitable
to the magazine’s genre and colour scheme.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
 Appearance wise, Crystal has been influenced by other artists in the alternative rock scene.
Through her extensive love of this music category, she has picked up certain conventional dressing
styles of artists in this category. This is because she can relate to this dressing style and it is what
she feels comfortable in. Regardless, Crystal still desires to portray her individualistic side, thus she
is unafraid to add her own touch to these appearances; she prefers to go for a more vintage, old-
school rock appearance. She is also comfortable enough to stray from the typical alternative rock
look and go for more feminine styles from time to time, emphasizing how she can appeal to
different types of audiences instead of being restricted to one thing.
Through this, Crystal has been influencing her target audience as they begin to follow her clothing
style and appearance more often. This is reinforced through her releasing fan merchandise true to
her own taste. She has also influenced listeners of her music to not consistently adhere to the
typical conventions of genres, that music is a style of expression that can continuously be adapted
and altered. Crystal constantly reminds her audience that music is about uniting people and
allowing them to feel they can relate to others.

 Poetry
 Photography
Crystal believes in;
 Going against society’s expectations of how she should be
 Being ambitious, creative, and individualistic
 Forming your own opinions instead of conforming to others
 Letting music and poetry unite you with others
