Professional Development Offered: Explanation
Our parish does not offer much professional development beyond
working with the curriculum and assessments to match. For the last
three years I have been working in the parish, our professional
development days have revolved solely around using the new
common core standards in our teaching and assessments. There has
never been an offered professional development that focused around
technology, not even for our new Promethean Boards and clickers.
Until this school year when we gained a technology guru, technology
was never even a big idea with our school. If you want to involve
technology, you must learn and implement all on your own with the
few resources that the school is able to have available.

Technology Importance in the Classroom: Explanation
Technology is the in thing to most of our students. Their young lives
tend to revolve around the latest cellphones, gaming systems, tablets,
applications for the different systems. They learn these items faster
than anything; its how we wish they learned our material in the
classroom. When technology is involved in a lesson, students interest
is gained. Our lives revolve around the use and enhancements of
technology. Most jobs today revolve around being able to use
technology in some fashion, especially the major basics like using a
computer or tablets with knowledge on the major used programs
especially the ones specific to the job.

Available Resources within the School: Explanation
The biggest question about technology use always comes down to:
can we do it? Our school has computers that are able to be used,
usually a tough task based around required district testing, but none
the less we have computers available for any programs we wish to
use. The problem continues; however, with the condition of our
computers. It is always cheaper for get refurbished computers, so that
is what is given. However, they are not lasting. There is not a single
computer lab or cart in the school that fully works. For example, my
issue is the available laptop cart I share with my English partner does
not last me past my second class. So we always ask ourselves, is it
possible for us to use and implement?
