Richtersveld tour?
The Richtersveld Experience
will introduce you to the
West Coast, Namaqualand
Coast, Northern
Namaqualand and
Richtersveld. You will have
the opportunity to experience these areas by Land Rover, as supplied
by Kontrei Traveller, with accommodation in local guest house
facilities.
During the course of the 11-day tour you will visit places such as
Paarl, Velddrif, Elandsbaai, Lambertsbaai, Groenrivier, Spoegrivier,
Koiingnaas, Springbok, Vioolsdrif, Sendelingsdrift, Richtersbeg, Mc
Dougallsbaai and Kamieskroon.
After being met in Cape Town, the tour starts with a stop-over in
Paarl (where you will be treated to traditional local food!) and where
you will be briefed about the days ahead.

The first few days you will travel through the Sandveld kontrei via
Elandsbaai to Lambert's Bay along the coastal roads, and on to the
Diamond Coast, overnighting along the way on a traditional farm as
well as in authentic accommodation on the rocky sea shore.
After a guided tour of the Strandveld flora and dunes, the group will
move on to the red granite plateau at Springbok, and then on towards
the Orange River with a stay at Vioolsdrif in newly erected chalets.
Then follows a drive along the Orange River towards the Nababeep
Nature Reserve, Eksteensfontein settlement and the Ploegberge
culminating in the Orange River crossing at Sendelingsdrif.

Later, for quality photographic opportunities there is the unique
Richtersberg Round trip, and then the group leaves the National Park
to proceed towards Alexanderbaai, with a visit to a Bird Sanctuary
and overnighting at McDougalls Bay close to the beach.
Then the tour heads home via the N7 to Kamieskroon and Cape Town.
