WHAT YOUR NMAT SCORES MEAN
The National Medical Admission Test, or NMAT, is designed to measure abilities which are deemed useful for selection purposes in
Philippine medical schools.
Part I of the NMAT yields five scores, one on each of the four aptitude subtests and their weighted summative score, the APT
Composite. Part II also yields five scores, one on each of the four subtest areas and their weighted summative score, the SA Composite.
The General Performance Score, or GPS, is the weighted summative score of the eight subtests.
The scores are reported in standard form and have a range of 200 to 800, a mean of 500, and a standard deviation of 100. The GPS
scale has an equivalent percentile rank scale that is used to indicate the standing of examinees in comparison with the norm group. The
percentile ranks have a range of 1- to 99+ with a mid-percentile rank of 50 that corresponds to the mean standard score of 500. For
example, if you obtain a GPS of 500, your performance is comparable to the mean GPS of the norm group and 50% of the norm group
scored lower than you. If your GPS is 539, it has a percentile rank equivalent of 65. This means that your score belongs to the scores of
the upper 35% of the norm group, while 65% of the norm group scored lower than you.
NOTE: This is an electronic copy of your NMAT results. It is NOT valid for admission purposes. Your official NMAT Examinee Report Form
(ERF) that should be presented when you apply for admission to Philippine medical schools will be MAILED four (4) weeks after the test date to the
mailing address that you indicated in your NMAT Application Form.
You may request for a duplicate copy of your official NMAT ERF if you have not received your original NMAT ERF five (5) weeks after the
test date. Please fax your request to (02) 894-1392 (attn: The NMAT Secretariat) or email us at nmat@cem-inc.org.ph. You may also visit the NMAT
