1. Welcome to 2013-2014
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! I hope that everyone had a fantastic
summer and are ready to get back to school. This will be your student’s last year in
the elementary school before we send them off to the junior high. I hope it is a
year full of learning, growth, memories, and fun.
Fifth grade is a very important year. It is full of more responsibilities than
students may have had in the past as we look to the fifth graders to be the role
models of the school. Your child will be looked upon by students and staff to set a
good example. I know they will be able to rise to the occasion.
I am a strong believer that school and home need to be on the same “page” in order
for the student to be most successful. I have a lot of procedures in place, as well as
resources, to help bridge these two environments. Below you will find my website.
Please take some time to visit this page if you have access to the internet. I also
have a newsletter that will be coming home every Monday. Make sure to look for it!
I would like to extend the opportunity to you to join me for an informational night
September 5th at 6:30. Meet me in our classroom and see the place where you
child spends the majority of their day. I will take some time to explain our
procedures, expectations, and how 5th grade “works”. I hope you are able to join us.
Thank you for loaning me your children this year. I am so excited to see the
progress that they will all make individually and as a learning community. See you on
the 5th!
