Dr. Altayyeb Yousef gave a careers day presentation comparing medical residency programs in North America and Europe. The presentation covered an introduction to medical residency programs, a comparison of the best programs worldwide, and advice on the application process including paperwork, exams, interviews, and next steps. Specific universities in the USA and Canada were discussed. A comparison of programs in Canada versus the US touched on differences in health systems, standardization, social life and support, reputation and research, program size, patient load, requirements, vacations, exams, and weather.
