2. MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES USED IN MY
RESEARCH STAGE
During my initial research, I used a wide variety of websites and to gain the
information I needed and to expand my research. These included:
Pearl and Dean: I used Pearl and Dean during my research stage was it benefited my
research into target audience’s. It provided graphs and in depth, statistical information about
different films and their genres, giving information into their target audience. This helped us
develop our own target audience, based on research we obtained regarding psychological
thriller films.
Youtube: I used Youtube frequently during my research stage, as it allowed me to research
different film trailers from all different genres, inspiring us to finally decide on creating a
marketing campaign for a psychological thriller film.
IMDb: I used IMDb during this stage to research films from the same genre as mine and
obtain lots of statistical information from films similar to ours to see how it was received by
different groups of people.
Prezi: I used Prezi during my genre research task, as I researched psychological thriller films
once we had decided on our genre.

3. MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES USED IN MY
PLANNING STAGE
During my planning stage , I used a wide variety of websites to document my
planning progression. These included:
Google Docs: I used Google Docs during my planning stage to create our film screenplay,
which gave us our initial storyline for our teaser trailer, which was a pivotal piece of planning
that greatly benefitted us on our filming day.
Youtube: I continued to use Youtube during our planning stage to continue in depth research
into similar psychological thriller films and which aspects of their teaser trailers were engaging
their target audience.
Powerpoint Online: I used Powerpoint Online during our planning stage to create our pitch
presentation. Using this media technology allowed our whole group to edit the presentation
simultaneously through Microsoft Outlook, which I then continued to use at home whilst I
completed the presentation.
Pinterest: I briefly used Pinterest during this stage when I began to create our characters, and
I created a small Pinterest page for our female lead Ebony, to detail her aesthetic and style
she will have.

4. MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES USED IN MY
CONSTRUCTION STAGE
During my construction stage , I used a wide variety of websites and tools to create
my products. These included:
Canon DSLR 550: This is the camera we used to film all our footage for our teaser trailer, and
also to take some images of our mise-en-scene and construction process on site.
Youtube: We used Youtube during this stage to upload our rough cut and final teaser trailer
onto our pages. This was effective as uploading the rough cut allowed us to show it to our
class, members of our target audience, to receive pivotal feedback.
Final Cut Pro: We used Final Cut Pro during our construction to create our teaser trailer
professionally and extensively.
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator: We used both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe
Photoshop during this stage to create both our film poster and magazine cover.

5. MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES USED IN MY
EVALUATION STAGE
During my initial research, I used a wide variety of websites and to gain the
information I needed and to expand my research. These included:
Prezi: I used this media technology to create my 1st evaluation question.
Emaze: I used this media technology to create my 2nd evaluation question.
Powerpoint: I used Microsoft Powerpoint for my 3rd and 4th evaluation questions. These were
then embedded onto my Mahara journal posts by uploading them to Slideshare.
Mahara Journal: Although this was used to document all my work throughout the course, my
completed journal was referred to and used throughout my evaluation stage as I took
information from it to extend my points for each evaluation question.
