a.k.a. CIR ASAP
It is important that we
pass CIR ASAP with
BOTH the DREAM Act
and PROUD Act.
12. Is it true the PROUD Act is trying to replace
legislation that has already been introduced?
No, the PROUD Act addresses the increasing high
school drop out rate by incentivizing students to be
good students and citizens in order to obtain
citizenship.
13. Why are the age requirements so strict?
PROUD is a streamlined pathway to citizenship.
Students that graduate with a high school
diploma, have completed grades 6-12 in the U.S.
and have good moral standing, can apply for
citizenship once they turn 18.
14. Why do we have PROUD when we have
DREAM?
The bills compliment each other. This bill is NOT
meant to overshadow the DREAM Act.
I support the DREAM Act, why should I
support the PROUD Act?
You can support both. Together they cover
thousands of students that would potentially be left
out.
