Question 4
1.
2. CREATING MY VIDEO.
To create my music video I first did some research into the
Genre itself by using social media such as YouTube to watch
past music videos and contemporary music videos comparing
Them to get the more popular version for the audience. I also
Used music forums to find out the age of people who talk
about rock music to establish my target audience and to see
what style gets people talking. I also read articles about rock
music and what the media thought of it to create and reinforce
stereotypes used in my video. I then used both after effects and premier
Pro to edit my footage programmes because I had to mask and clone
Certain shots in After Effects and then import those into premier pro so
I could edit all the clips together using a more simpler way.
3. DIGIPACK AND POSTER
For my poster I did research into psychedelic rock and the style in
Which it is presented in so I could try and imitate it in a modern way
To appeal to contemporary audiences. I used you tube to learn how
to create psychedelic art and then I used that to style my poster and
Using Photoshop I was able to use a computer instead of painting the
Poster. I used the same research and the skills I had learnt watching
the you tube videos to create a digipack which conformed to both past
Representations of rock music and contemporary representations, by
creating and outside design which fits in to the alternative side of rock and
An inside cover that is the same psychedelic style as the poster which lets
people know just what type of album it is.
4. TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT
I used a canon 700d with a steady mount and a tripod to film most of my shots
And I used the tripod more often because in the masking shot I had to keep the
Camera in exactly the same place each time so I used a tripod to take over 6
shots from the same angle. Using the steady mount created shots that I was
able to move the camera around in without the images become shaky which was
Helpful when doing tracking shots. The camera itself has a range of modes and
settings which allowed me to adjust the camera to my own specifications to get the
Exact shot colour, framing, exposure, iso and frame rate that I needed. The combination of all three pieces of equipment
Allowed me to create footage that I was happy to use in my final product.
5. OVERALL
I have learnt skills that I previously had no idea about when I was creating my AS product and now that I have
learnt these skills I am able to apply them to most aspects of my school life as well as having a wider knowledge
Of technology used in media products whether it’s the research aspect or the practical I have learned skills that
allow me to complete the tasks that I have been set to the best of my ability.
