3. « Fang Fang » (1949 – 2008) : o 1990 = She started « Couleurs de Chine » as a cultural Association to introduce the culture of Chinese minorities (Miao, Yao and Dong) to the French public. o 1998 = She worked as an interpreter for « Doctors without Borders » in the Guangxi province. 4. o From 1998 = She decided to stay and live in this remote area and change the main goal of the Association by sponsoring education for ethnic girls . 9. o Local families have very low income (average annual income is around 500 rmb) o The economy is based on terraced rice cultivation and the planting of fir trees . 11. o Our major action is to help girls and children to have access to primary school (6 years) and middle school (3 years). o The brightest one are supported to go to high school and some have reached university level.
