Title : Dislocation
General purpose: To inform
Specific purpose: To inform about dislocation injuries that happen in life.
Central idea : The most important aspect about dislocation is, know about the type
of dislocation, know about the treatment when dislocate
happen, and how to handle or prevent method to avoid that injured
                          happen

Introduction.
   i. No blood, but I can’t move my shoulder, I feel so pain and hurt, and I feel my
joint is gone from my body.
ii. This happen when I have a bad landing when to tackle opponent in rugby game,
and after that my doctor told to me to rest about 2 month.
iii. According National Institutes of Health, dislocation are joint injuries that force the
end of bone out of position.
iv. I have learnt about dislocation from my study at Faculty of Sport Science, and
learn about sport injuries, also from book, article and internet resources.
   v. Today I want to inform you about type of dislocation, treatment for dislocation,
and prevention method to avoid dislocation.
(Transition: Let’s start with type of dislocation.)

                                              Body
   i. Have many type of dislocation that happen in our life, the type is.
           A. The first type of dislocation is shoulder dislocation.
              1. As defined by The Sport Medicine Patient Advisor, dislocation of the
shoulder joint happen when the bones making up your shoulder joint are
moved apart so that joint not longer function.
              2. Have two type of dislocated shoulder, first is anterior of dislocation and
                 posterior dislocation.
           B. Second type is dislocation of knee.
              1. A knee dislocation occurs when the bones that form the knee are out of
                 place.
              2. More specifically, is when the bones of the leg (the tibia and fibula) are
moved in relation to the bone in the thigh (femur).
              3. Dislocation of knee always happens in sport especially in contact sports.
           C. The third type of dislocate is dislocate of elbow.
              1. Elbow dislocation occurs when the bones of the forearm (radius and ulna)
move out of place compared with the one of the arm (humerus)
              2. The mechanism of injury for a dislocated elbow is most commonly a
hyperextension injury or a sudden, violent medial force on the elbow that
                 drives the ulna backwards.
3. Elbow dislocation always happen in a contact sport, it’s also can happen
                 when fall.
(Transition: Now that you know type of dislocation, let’s look at how to treatment dislocation
injury)
ii. Every injury must have they treatment, this is a treatment for a dislocation.
           A. First treatment for dislocation is initial treatment, it’s usually for shoulder
              dislocation.
              1. According Tim McBride and Socrates Kalogrianitis, acute dislocation
of the shoulder must be managed urgently.
              2. Closed reduction of shoulder dislocation is usually possible without
                      surgical intervention.
              3. In this treatment need use R.I.C.E principal, Rest, Ice, Compress, and
                      Elevation.
              4. For the shoulder dislocate that have use leverage method, the method is
                      Kocher method.
           B. Nest treatment for dislocation is for knee dislocation.
              1. The first treatment is placing ice on the injured may help for some pain
                  and reduce swelling.
              2. According to eMedicieHealth, the treatment is to have a doctor assess the
injury and relocate or put the knee back in place.
           C. The third treatment is surgery.
              1. Surgery is the last choice for the treatment, that why is we make a surgery
for the dislocate part we will not change to involve in sport again.
              2. The surgery will be apply when the patient always get a dislocation.
           D. Last treatment is rehab training or exercise.
              1. Every type or injury must take a time to rehab.
              2. The part of dislocation need take a time to restore to normal position.
              3. The rehabilitation is important for the athlete to return in the sport.
(Transition: given that how to treat dislocation, so we go to how to prevent dislocation it’s
happen again)
iii. Have many ways to prevent dislocation injury it’s happen again.
           A. Doing exercise that can reduce from the injury again.
              1. Doing exercise to strength the muscles around the shoulder.
              2. Make a correct exercise to our shoulder.
              3. Make exercise for strong the part that have already get dislocation, for
shoulder do it push up, shrug, and for knee do it squat, harmstring curl and
                 so on.
           B. Wearing a protective equipment and play careful to prevent dislocation again.
              1. Tapping at the dislocation area, example shoulder, knee, elbow and so on.
              2. Other protective equipment is, knee guard, yulkan shoulder strap.
              3. When involve in sport make a reduce contact with the opponent.
           C. Make sure that our injury is full recovery.
              1. Make a medical check-up before make an involvement in sport when have
                 a history about dislocation.
CONCLUSION.
i. As we have seen, dislocation is injuries that happen in our life, included sport, and
work and so on. Dislocation is one injury that can make our life bad when it’s not
       get proper treatment.
ii. Fortunately, there have many treatments that we can use to treat dislocation and
we need to make sure that our joint is strong and not easy to get dislocate injuries.
iii. Last but not least, let me end this speech with this quotation every activity that
you involve make sure our safety is important reduce the injuries.
iv. Thanks you.
