This document discusses the need to transform education for 21st century learners. It notes that today's students learn differently than in the past, preferring multimedia and social/interactive learning. However, the current education system still focuses on standardized testing and single-subject mastery. To better prepare students for modern careers and life, the document argues education must shift to teaching skills like problem-solving, creativity and collaboration over specific content knowledge. This will help close the disconnect between how students learn now and how teachers currently teach.

49. “The world around us isn't waiting for us to make gradual
transitions. It's making revolutionary, not evolutionary,
transitions every 5 to 10 years. I don't think the "get a few
teachers on board this year, another few next year,
another few next year" model isn't up to the challenge.”
