INTRODUCTION 
 K.S.T.P.P. is a coal based power plant in Rajasthan. 
 It is located in Nimoda village,Jhalawar district Rajasthan near 
Kali Sindh river. 
 It has two units each of 600 MW capacity.

 Wagon unloading system 
 Conveying system 
 Crushing system 
8700 tons coal is required 
per day for each unit. 
Coal is supplied from Parsa 
kanta mines Chhatisgrah

A boiler is always designed to absorb max 
amount of heat released in process of 
combustion 
FD fan:-To supply air for combustion of 
fuel in furnace. 
ID fan:-for sucking out flue gases and 
discharge to atmosphere.
Steam Turbine 
 It is a machine in which 
shaft is rotated by impact 
or reaction of steam on 
blades of turbine. 
 When Steam is used then 
it is called steam turbine.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT 
It is used to remove 
impurities like suspended 
particles, minerals and 
biological impurities. 
• Equipment for 
demineralization cum 
softening plant consists of 
two streams each stream 
with activated carbon filter, 
acid , cation exchanger and 
mixed bed exchanger.
Cooling towers 
The two cooling towers 
of the facility are 202 
metres tall and the 
tallest in the world 
A cooling tower is a 
heat rejection device 
which extracts waste 
heat to the atmosphere 
through the cooling of a 
water stream to a lower 
temperature
Ash Handling Plant 
Electrostatic Precipitator 
is used in ash handling 
plant to remove fly ash. 
Use of ash 
Manufacturing of building 
materials. 
Making of concrete. 
Manufacturing of cement. 
Road construction etc.
