The document discusses Asia's involvement in World War 2. Japan allied with Germany and Italy in 1940 and later attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 after the US stopped supplying oil, bringing the US into the war. Key Pacific battles included Pearl Harbor, Midway where the US turned back the Japanese fleet, and Guadalcanal. The US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, killing over 120,000 civilians and leading to Japan's surrender. The aftermath was that the world recognized the devastating power of atomic weapons and that countries will go to extreme lengths to secure resources, even attacking more powerful nations.

2. Asian WWII?
On September 27, 1940, Japan signed the Tripartite Pact with
Germany and Italy, thus entering the military alliance known as the
"Axis."
Although Japan mainly focused on ways to conquer China, the United
States stoped supplying oil to Japan while fighting with the Axis. In
retaliation Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, and as a result America
declared war on Japan and Germany, thus entering WWII.
3. Important Battles
Pearl Harbor was possibly the most important Pacific because it ended in The United
States entering the war against Japan and Germany.
The turning point in the Pacific war came with the American naval victory in the Battle
of Midway in June 1942. The Japanese fleet sustained heavy losses and was turned
back. In August 1942, American forces attacked the Japanese in the Solomon
Islands, forcing a costly withdrawal of Japanese forces from the island of
Guadalcanal in February 1943.
On August 6, 1945, the United States Air Force dropped an atomic bomb on the
Japanese city of Hiroshima. Tens of thousands of people died in the initial explosion,
and many more died later from radiation exposure. Three days later, the United
States dropped a bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. Approximately 120,000
civilians died as a result of the two blasts.
4. Aftermath
The result of the Pacific war was very intense.
The world know knew of the devastating power
of the atomic bomb and the consequences of
using it. The world will never look at a weapon
of mass destruction as something needed to be
used regularly, like they did before hand.
The world also now knows that a country will go
to any lengths to obtain oil and other natural
resources, even attacking a more powerful
country.
