•Asana is the first anga of the Ashtanga yoga. When you
are established in asana, the only you will derive the
benefits of Pranayam.
•Spread a blanket on the floor and practice the asanas
over the blanket, use a pillow or four, folded blanket for
practice sirshasana and its varities.
3. • Wear a langotee or knowpeen when you practice
asanas. You can have a banian on the body.
• Do not wear spectacles when you do asanas, they may
be broken or they will injure your eyes.
• Those who practice sirsahasana, etc for a long time
should take light Tiffin or a cup of milk after finishing the
asanas.

4. • Be regular in the practice. Those who practice by fits and
starts with not derive any benefit.
• Asanas should be done on empty stomach in the
morning or at least 3 hours after food. Morning time is
the best for doing asanas.
• If the foundation of the building is not properly laid, the
superstructure will fall down in no time, even so if a yogic
student has not gained mastery over the asanas, we
cannot successfully processed in his higher course of
yogic practice.

5. • In the beginning you cannot perform some of the asanas
perfectly. Regular practice will give perfection. Patience
and perseverance earnestness and sincerity are needed.
• Never change the asanas. Adhere is one set
tenaciously. If you do one set of asanas today and some
other tomorrow and so on, you cannot derive any
benefit.

his temperament, capacity, convenience, leisure and
requirement.
• If you are careful about your diet, asanas and meditation

technique. With regular practice of Parvatasana, your

• This pose gives longevity and strengthens the spine.
• Vajrasana improves the flow of blood and nervous
impulses in the pelvic region and strengthens the
pelvic muscles.
• Vajrasana is a preventative measure against
hernia and also helps to relieve piles.
