• A pixel is one dot on a color display
screen. The more dots or pixels, the
better the resolution of the picture. There
is a point of diminishing returns when
taking photos however.

High Quality: 10 x 13 inches
Acceptable Quality: 13 x 19 inches
• 4 MP = 2272 x 1704 pixels
High Quality: 9 x 12 inches

4. Lens and Zoom
• Optical zoom is superior to digital zoom.
• Be careful to only use zoom when you
can’t get closer to an object or you want
a real closeup. Otherwise, step forward.
• Don’t take a picture with windows or
light behind the subject. It tricks the
automatic exposure and your subject
looks too dark.
