North Carolina State Parks has three main missions: to conserve and protect over 204,000 acres across several parks through prescribed burning, invasive species management, and environmental reviews; to provide outdoor recreational opportunities such as camping, hiking, biking, swimming, and more; and to provide environmental education programs that promote stewardship of the land.
