2. *Welcome* Welcome to a new year of learning! I am looking forward to being your teacher. In order for our class to work for our best advantage, we need some ground rules
3. Arrival - ~Be in your seat when the bell rings. ~Have supplies and home work out and ready. ~If you arrive late, have a note. NO NOTE=NO EXCUSE and you will get a tardy. Dismissal- ~Wait in seats for bell to ring. ~If you have to leave early, let me know before class starts. Reasons have to be reasonable!
4. Rules- ~ Be Respectful to yourself, others and the teacher. GOLDEN RULE: Treat others as you wish to be treated! ~Follow rules in your student handbook. ~Be respectful to property including yours, mine, the schools and your peers. ~Homework and readings are due at the beginning of class. Late homework will not be accepted without prior notice or excuse. ~In English we focus on English, NOT other classes. ~Please do not plagiarize. This could lead to suspension or expulsion. ~NO CELL PHONES IN CLASS! I will take them! You can get them back at the end of day. Depending on infraction and how severe the infraction is, discipline is: 1st warning, 2nd warning and call home, detention. I reserve right to change these consequences.
5. The Hallway And Passes ~ If we have to travel as a class anywhere, please remain quiet and in a single file line. ~Per school rules, you must have your agenda to go to bathroom or locker, signed by me. ~I will keep track of how many passes you use with me. Only 3 bathroom passes per 9 weeks and 3 locker passes per 9 weeks. ~ If you ask me to go before the bell rings a pass is still required.
6. I will contact parents if: ~ You are not performing well in homework, tests, class ~You have multiple discipline issues ~In emergency ~any other reason deemed necessary
7. Schedule Daily- ~Attendance and Journal ~Sharing of journal ~Discussion of homework and collection ~Lesson ~Discussion of that night’s homework Weekly- Mondays- Spelling Wednesdays- Grammar Fridays- Test and quiz day
Supplies include, notebook, writing utensil, folder and books.
Being respectful includes, but is not limited to, listening, wait to be called on, keep hands to self, following directions, listening to teacher and to others. 4th rule means not doing math homework in class
Point 4- this is to prevent the student from getting into trouble by another teacher if he or she is not back by the time the bell rings.
They are to be journaling while you are taking attendance.
