Swedish National Data Service SND
• is an infrastructure for Swedish research within the humanities,
social sciences and health sciences.
• hosts from April 2016 Environment Climate Data Sweden
(ECDS)
• Manage and develops a trusted national repository and search
portal.
• helps Swedish and international researchers gain access to
existing research data within and outside of Sweden.
• was established 2007 but has in total 30+ years of experience.
• is funded by the National Research Council and the University
of Gothenburg (host). Staff of 29 (April 2016).

Pilot Project 2016
• Aims
– Identify an efficient model to reach a larger coverage of
research data nationally.
– Provide universities with the basis for establishing a Front
Office (library, archives, IT etc.), and a basis for resource
allocation/budgeting.
– Prepare for the 2017-application to the Research Council
(Vetenskapsrådet) based on researchers need.
• Pilot the model with research groups at 5-10 universities.
• Mixture of higher educational institutions of different sizes, a
variety of academic disciplines.
