The use of technology to individualize each child can help those who are behind or ahead, individually. If tablets or computers are available a child who may need a little more of a challenge can go ahead to the next level without being kept with the other children. This goes vice versa and if there is a child that needs to work a little more on a certain area before moving on then the teacher will be able to help the child individually without hindering the other children and this way the teacher can keep the other students from knowing when a child may be behind. When it comes to technology supporting learning there are many areas that can be discussed. Using technology in the classroom should be a center just like the others and should not be used as a reward for good behavior. Using technology can help with social skills because students are more likely to work together when technology is involved. Students, I think, will have the encouragement to learn more with technology and they may feel more responsible when given the opportunity to use a computer like their teachers. If a goal of the literacy curricula for a certain age child is to learn to write personal journals, then the computer can naturally support that through writing software, digital cameras, etc. Writing software can encourage children to interactively learn letter sounds, make sentences, etc. When children are given software to learn animals for example they can hear the sounds of the animals and match the word with picture and sound. The more involvement and excitement the children have about learning the more they will learn so giving the students an exciting day of learning they will have lots more to talk to you about when they come home to you!
