Planning 10, Unit 3 Project
How to use a Budget of $500
~There are many things in life that we all need or
want. Our wants like Clothing and Entertainment,
and or needs like Personal Items, Cell phones,
Food and Transportation. These all require a
cost; there is a cell phone bill every month and
groceries that are needed and payed for; all
payed for in Superstore. In this presentation, you
will learn how to productively spend under $500
without going over your budget limit.
Clothing is not cheap either!
No matter what it takes, girls can never be stopped by spending money on
clothes. In comparison to the prices of clothes today and the prices of clothes
in a couple years, the same clothing brands would still be more expensive.
Although, these are the personal items that I found at the cheapest price in
nice stores.
~Jeans ( 2 x 19.90 = 39.80 )

~Tank tops ( 3 x 8.00 = 24.00 )

~Underwear (2 x 3.00 = 6.00 )

~Scarf ( 1 x 12.00 = 12.00 )

~Costs depend on brand names
and how new the item is.~
Budget : $83.33

Spent: $81.80
Entertainment and Costs
What do you prefer for entertainment? Do you like to go hangout with you friends
and have supper with them? Well, in this slide, you will learn how to incorporate
your money under a limit.
As I now start to grow up and figure out how much things are costing, I now
know that when I move out to go to university, I will have to budget myself and
how much I spend. Entertainment like catching a movie with friends or even going
out for dinner. 1 good tip: just to go out for dinner once a month and instead of
going to the movie theatres, have your friends overnight and watch a couple
movies instead that won't cost you a dime.
Although, movies aren’t the only source of entertainment. At least ⅔ of the
population of teenagers have cell phones nowadays. I for one, only pay $20 for my
used, prepaid Blackberry Curve. With $63.33 left, I could choose to go to a
movie, see my friends, go out to dinner or anything else in that price range in one
month.
Budget Cost: $83.33

Spent : $83.33
We Need Personal Items
Even though we all need personal items, going to the cheapest stores can
help you in saving money.
Shampoo ( $8.98 ) per bottle
Toothpaste ( $1.47 )

Conditioner ( $8.98 ) per bottle
Razr ( $2.49 ) 1 pack of 6

Body wash ( $9.57 ) per bottle

Facewash ( $6.29 ) depending on brand

Pads ( $1.97 )

Tampons ( $1.27 )

Mascara ( $9.97)

Eye liner ( $6.49)

Concealer ( $12.92)

Make-up Remover ( $6.92)

Budget Cost : $83.33

Spent:$77.32
Cell Phones are Expensive!
Cell phones are the first piece of technology that
will eat all of your extra money. Lucky for me, I
have a cheap, used Blackberry Curve phone that is
on a prepaid plan that only costs me $35 a month.
Nowadays, many people are spending over $70 on
just a phone! Even though I have limited amount of
minutes and unlimited texting, I am still saving
more money than most people.
Budget : $83.33
Spent:$35
We always need Food.
Food in life is one of our main priorities. Without food and water, we could
not survive. Although, it depends on where you live and where you buy your
food from. For myself, I have chosen Superstore. Here are some of the
examples of food that I would have if I was living on campus ( most of these
items are on sale).

Oatmeal Quaker ( 1 bag = $2.50)

Apples ( 6.49 x 2 = $13.70)

Eggs ( 1 x $1.75)
Salas pack ( 1 x $16.50)
Muffins ( 1 x $12.49)

Bread ( 1 x $1.29)
Itchiban ( 12 pack x $18.80)
Vegetable Dish ( 1 x $16.20

Budget :$83.33

Spent :$83.23
Transportation
In the costly future, I plan on staying in a small apartment or room that is on
campus at the university. Since I will have to buy my own groceries, personal
items etc., I will need a source of transportation. Although, buying a car
would be helpful, insurance and paying for gas every month would become a
hassle. So, I have devised that will save me money depending how much I will
use that source of transportation.
In this plan, I have decided that taking a city bus would save me money
then having my own car. Also, instead of paying for the bus everytime I would
like to use it, I would buy a bus pass, that would only cost $43 per 6 months.
This means, I can ride the bus anytime I would like and not have to spend my
money.

Budget: $43

Spent: $43
In Conclusion to My Budgeting
System
Although I am on a Budget of $500, It is still possible to
work around it and save money.
