What is the PFA? • Started in 2005 by a group of parents • A link between the University and the parents and family members of UO students
Why is it important? • Once students enter college, they are adults and responsible for their education as established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) • The PFA offers resources for parents to be “in the know” without being the “helicopter parent”
Target Audience • Parents and family members of UO students • Traditional firsttime, full-time firstyear student • Considerations for different generational needs
Membership Benefits • Enhanced communication and information from the UO • Monthly enewsletters • Access to administration and staff

  • 2. What is the PFA? • Started in 2005 by a group of parents • A link between the University and the parents and family members of UO students
  • 3. Why is it important? • Once students enter college, they are adults and responsible for their education as established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) • The PFA offers resources for parents to be “in the know” without being the “helicopter parent”
