Paternity Matters: Fathers Should Count
Qualifying fathers for the same equal rights as mothers.
As of 2012, more than 80% of single parent families are mothers. Also as of today, 1 out of 3 children out of a total of 15 million growing up without a father.
My audience should listen to me because as the years progress we are doing 3 things that will not make it better, but will make matters worst.
The first is setting poor examples for our parents by not treating them equally.
second by doing this it is not encouraging our fathers to father which will simply increase the statistics greatly for the years to come
and lastly the new generation will not change because it becomes a cycle that will continue to repeat itself until this issue is resolved.
Children can grow up with more fulfillments with love and support from both parents, rather than just one.
By qualifying fathers for the same equal rights as mothers, this will first, reduce the number of single parent families
next it will encourage separated or divorced parents to be more mutual for the sake of the child
and finally improve our youth to be there for their children as their parents was for them.
Married parents who raised their children together; children are more likely to attend college, grow up physically and emotionally healthier, avoid drugs, alcohol and delinquent behavior and repeat this cycle of life.
My two siblings and myself grew up under the care of my grandparents, and growing up under love and support of both grandparents, we learned and valued family our healthy upbringings and our cycled repeated itself. We all attend or attended college and all are married and very responsible adults.
Most single parent children grow up faster than they should given the circumstances of living in poverty, other younger siblings they become forced to watch, protect or even raise while their mother either works or goes out, and grow up emotionally angered due to their economical disadvantage.
This supporting point reminds me of my little cousin. His father was locked up while he was a forced to be raised by his mother. He has two younger siblings, which he was forced to watch at a young age while my Aunt worked. My aunt being as sweet as she was, forced my cousin to eventually resent her because his forced and enclosed childhood. He later got involved in selling drugs and smoking them as well.
Fathers have a very important role on their childâs life and a very special bond/connection with their children
Most father-child relationships impact their childâs well-being, sense of security, childâs outcome, educational achievement, cognitive ability, and social behavior.
Children without fathers tend to seek this bond elsewhere, leaving an empty space that shouldâve been filled. The only outcome of this point is everyone gets hurt. The father is faced with guilt and shame. The son seeks a father guidance from other male role models in his life, and daughter seeks it from males she gets involved in and both can get hurt when their expectations are not met they way wanted them to be.
Letâs add, make or change laws to give fathers their fighting chance for equal rights to raise their children.
