3. ï¶The Jaffna Dutch Fort is the second largest Fort in Sri Lanka.
ï¶Construction began of this Fort 1622 AD and completed in 1625.
ï¶The Dutch in 1658 reconstructed into a pentagonal shape building
ï¶The fort has significant historical background speak about memories of 328 years European
rules in Jaffna, Ceylon.
ï¶The fort situated in the heart of the Jaffna Town.
ï¶The Fort area covered 62 acres with 30 feet hight.
ï¶Around the Fort there are deep cannel constructed as a protection concern during the
European rule.

detail map of the building.
