Effective Intervention
Strategies for Learner
at Risk
1. Provide activities with
gamified online learning
platforms.
2. Engage with learners
frequently. Use the time to
connect by giving assistance,
feedback and even a short
talk.
3. Modify activities which will
suit to learner’s level of
learning capabilities.
4. Create a parent-teacher
partnership for distance
learning.
5. Create flexible
timetable.
6. Provide open-ended
activities which allow students
to choose their preferred
learning output.
7. Connect learning tasks to
real life situations.
8. Provide or develop
instructional videos as
supplementary resources.
9. Localize and indigenize
examples.
10. Write appreciation notes
on learner’s output before
returning it.
11. Create support group such
as fb group, group chat, and
other social media platforms.
12.Incorporate drama and arts
in some learning tasks.
13. Used advance organizers
such as graphic organizers,
flowcharts, cycles and others.
14. Use differentiated
instruction according to
learner’s learning styles.
15. Send an appreciation video
on learner’s work to motivate
him/her to study more.
16. Gather feedback form
parents about their child’s
learning progress while studying
at home.
17. Do not compare learner’s
grade to his/her classmates to
reduce competition among
them.
18. Avoid demeaning comments
on giving feedbacks to learner’s
output.
19. Utilize interactive online
tests such as quizziz, kahoot
and other online test
applications.
20. Collaborate with other
learning areas on giving learning
tasks to lessen learners time in
accomplishing outputs.
