6. Granny’s gingercookies
1½ dl syrup
1½ dl milk
200 g sugar
1 tsp ground clove
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground cardamon
100 g butter (with salt)
1 tbsp bakingsoda
500 g wheat flour
• Put a small saucepan on a low heat, add the syrup, sugar, milk and spices.
• Combine with a spoon. Keep stirring until the mixture boils.
• Take the pan off the heat and add the butter, let it melt in.
• Stir in the flour and baking powder.
• Let it cool down in refrigerator.
7. • Preheat your oven to 200°C.
• Dust work surface and rolling pin with flour
and roll the dough out to about 4 mm thick, use moulds.
• Bake in the oven until cookies are golden brown.
• Decorate: 1 egg white mixed with 250 g icing sugar .
