 Tracking and navigation system were first
utilized for transportation business . But
now a days as innovation developing at a
quick rate the usages of tracking device are
manies.
 In Bangladesh tracking system are mainly
used for transport companies , courier
companies , traffic operators.

 Now a days in all over the world every in 40 seconds a child become missing or
kidnapped . This microcontroller based task called child tracking system which
made numerous miracles in the security of the kid.
 A national work ship titled “Missing Child Alert”(MCA) featured that 200,000
children missing cases are recorded in South Asia consistently and around
20,000 of that number are young stars from Bangladesh . The purpose of the
child tracking device is to ensuring security of this children.
 Probably the most terrifying ordeal for parent is to lose sight of their kid .
Recently all over the world crime against children is increasing at a higher rate
and it is high time to offer safety support system for the children going to
school.

 The use of GPS and GSM technologies
allows the system to track object and
provides the most up to date information
about kids.
 Achieving maximum productivity with
minimum wasted effort or expense for
tracking the children who is outside home.

 The fundamental concept of this system uses mobile phone
application with the help of a micro controller . Now a days 80% of the
pepole in all over the world usages mobile phone .The major issue of
child tracking system can be solved with the help of a mobile phone.
 Upgrading this setup is easy which makes it open to future
requirement which also makes it more efficient.

Objectives
 The main objective of this project is to ensuring security to every child
by developing a simple cost effective device
 This tracking system can be a good solution for decreasing the
number of missing children and child trafficking in Bangladesh .
 User friendly, easily accessible monitoring system.
 Literature review on microcontroller based tracking system.
 Design and implementation of a child tracking system.

 The tracking system for children
will track and monitor the location
of the children.
 The parent can monitor their
children location through a simple
SMS and can see the exact
location.
 These child tracking system are
ideal for the parents who are in
office or if the children is outside of
home.

Child Tracking System.
 The whole system is divided into three main sub systems . GPS , GSM, and
Arduino subsystem.
 GPS is used for describing the position of the children in the form of longitude &
latitude.
 This longitude & latitude is received by the GSM. And GSM send this information
to the trackers mobile number via message.
 Arduino chip is used software or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that
written in computer, used to write and upload computer code to physical board.
And Google Map is used to improve the accuracy of this system.

offers the additional functionality which
requires high accuracy . Extract location
of the children such functionality requires
high , accuracy with GPS module
coordinates , validity of the system
72.2% and with Google Map validity of
the system 95%.

 Arduino IDE:
 Arduino integrated
development environment
(IDE) is a cross-platform
application which is written
for both Windows and Linux
OS using Java
programming language.
 It supports the languages C
and C++ using special rules
of code structuring.

 Arduino Nano:
 Arduino Nano might be a little,
compatible, flexible and
breadboard friendly
microcontroller Board.
 Input voltage varies from 7v to
12v.
 It has 14 digital pins, 8 analog
pins, 2 reset pin and 6 power
pin.

 GPS Module U-Blox NEO-6M:
 Cost effective,high performance GPS
Module.
 It has a ceramic patch antena,an
 on-board memory chip and a backup
battery.
 The input voltage is between 3.3-5 v.
 It has the capability to track upto 22
satelites on 50 channels.
 It has high sensitivity which makes it
good use for indoor function.

 SIM800L GSM Module:
 SIM 800L is a miniature GSM modem
used for sending SMS,phone calls and
link to the web via GPRS,TCP/IP.
 It has 12 pins for different functions.
 It has LED status indicator for indicating
the network status.
 Operating voltages is from 3.4-4.4v.
 It has antena for connecting with the
network.
 At the center of the module it has
SIM800L GSM cellular chip from simcon.

 To develop child tracking system,
a low-cost hardware has been
implemented on PCB board.

After pressing the panic button GSM sends the co-ordinates in the
form of lng&lat to the particular number.

Conclusion
 We have designed and implemented user friendly child tracking
device by using microcontroller , GPS and GSM.
 The proposed system is able to monitoring and send the exact
location of the children.
 The purpose of this thesis is to ensure safety to the children by
tracking the children location . So that the parent can get relief
when they or the children are outside of home.

Conclusion (contd..)
 Also, a comparison between the proposed system and other
system price discussed in literature section can be concluded
with a low cost child tracking system can be produced.
 This paper provides the concept for developing a low cost ,
high accuracy and user friendly system by using Google map .
Google map can improve the accuracy of GPS.

Future Works
 Making it compact by optimizing PCB design and converting it
compatible to put inside child’s bag-pack.
 The project can be upgraded for Emergency alerts notification.
 We can set up a range of location for the GPS tracker. Whenever
the device will out of its range, it’ll send SMS to the parents number.
 We can use high sensitivity vibration sensor for accident detection,
sound detector so that whenever it detect the sound of child’s crying
it’ll send SMS automatically, fire detector for fire alarming
notification.

  • 3. Background & Motivation  Tracking and navigation system were first utilized for transportation business . But now a days as innovation developing at a quick rate the usages of tracking device are manies.  In Bangladesh tracking system are mainly used for transport companies , courier companies , traffic operators. 3
  • 4. Background & Motivation (contd..)  Now a days in all over the world every in 40 seconds a child become missing or kidnapped . This microcontroller based task called child tracking system which made numerous miracles in the security of the kid.  A national work ship titled “Missing Child Alert”(MCA) featured that 200,000 children missing cases are recorded in South Asia consistently and around 20,000 of that number are young stars from Bangladesh . The purpose of the child tracking device is to ensuring security of this children.  Probably the most terrifying ordeal for parent is to lose sight of their kid . Recently all over the world crime against children is increasing at a higher rate and it is high time to offer safety support system for the children going to school. 4
  • 5. Background & Motivation (contd..)  The use of GPS and GSM technologies allows the system to track object and provides the most up to date information about kids.  Achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort or expense for tracking the children who is outside home. 5

Now a days 80% of the pepole in all over the world usages mobile phone .The major issue of child tracking system can be solved with the help of a mobile phone.  Upgrading this setup is easy which makes it open to future requirement which also makes it more efficient. 6

Objectives  The main objective of this project is to ensuring security to every child by developing a simple cost effective device  This tracking system can be a good solution for decreasing the number of missing children and child trafficking in Bangladesh .  User friendly, easily accessible monitoring system.  Literature review on microcontroller based tracking system.  Design and implementation of a child tracking system. 7
  • 8.  The tracking system for children will track and monitor the location of the children.  The parent can monitor their children location through a simple SMS and can see the exact location.  These child tracking system are ideal for the parents who are in office or if the children is outside of home. 8 Child Tracking System.
  • 9.  The whole system is divided into three main sub systems . GPS , GSM, and Arduino subsystem.  GPS is used for describing the position of the children in the form of longitude & latitude.  This longitude & latitude is received by the GSM. And GSM send this information to the trackers mobile number via message.  Arduino chip is used software or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that written in computer, used to write and upload computer code to physical board. Extract location of the children such functionality requires high , accuracy with GPS module coordinates , validity of the system 72.2% and with Google Map validity of the system 95%. 10

  • 17. Implementation  Arduino IDE:  Arduino integrated development environment (IDE) is a cross-platform application which is written for both Windows and Linux OS using Java programming language.  It supports the languages C and C++ using special rules of code structuring. 17
  • 18. Implementation (contd..)  Arduino Nano:  Arduino Nano might be a little, compatible, flexible and breadboard friendly microcontroller Board.  Input voltage varies from 7v to 12v.  It has 14 digital pins, 8 analog pins, 2 reset pin and 6 power pin. 18

Implementation (contd..)  GPS Module U-Blox NEO-6M:  Cost effective,high performance GPS Module.  It has a ceramic patch antena,an  on-board memory chip and a backup battery.  The input voltage is between 3.3-5 v.  It has the capability to track upto 22 satelites on 50 channels.  It has high sensitivity which makes it good use for indoor function. 19

Implementation (contd..)  SIM800L GSM Module:  SIM 800L is a miniature GSM modem used for sending SMS,phone calls and link to the web via GPRS,TCP/IP.  It has 12 pins for different functions.  It has LED status indicator for indicating the network status.  Operating voltages is from 3.4-4.4v.  It has antena for connecting with the network.  At the center of the module it has SIM800L GSM cellular chip from simcon. 20

Conclusion  We have designed and implemented user friendly child tracking device by using microcontroller , GPS and GSM.  The proposed system is able to monitoring and send the exact location of the children.  The purpose of this thesis is to ensure safety to the children by tracking the children location . So that the parent can get relief when they or the children are outside of home. 28

Conclusion (contd..)  Also, a comparison between the proposed system and other system price discussed in literature section can be concluded with a low cost child tracking system can be produced.  This paper provides the concept for developing a low cost , high accuracy and user friendly system by using Google map . Google map can improve the accuracy of GPS. 29

Future Works  Making it compact by optimizing PCB design and converting it compatible to put inside child’s bag-pack.  The project can be upgraded for Emergency alerts notification.  We can set up a range of location for the GPS tracker. Whenever the device will out of its range, it’ll send SMS to the parents number.  We can use high sensitivity vibration sensor for accident detection, sound detector so that whenever it detect the sound of child’s crying it’ll send SMS automatically, fire detector for fire alarming notification. 30
