The Republic of Poland is a country in Central Europe.
The total area of the country is 321 679 square kilometers. Poland is bordered by
Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia and Czech Republic.

In 1999 Poland joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and on 1 May
2004 became a member of European Union.

In August 2013 Warsaw – Białołęka Detention Centre became a member
of an international partnership project called Second Chance, which was
a part of Grundtvig programme - successful adult education. Partnership
countries are Italy, Spain, Turkey, Estonia and Romania. The project is
financed by European Union

Life stories are based on the interviews
conducted with the pupils of prison school located at
the Detention Centre in Warsaw-Bialoleka. This
Learning Center educates students at the secondary
level in the field of secondary school, technical and
vocational schools. Interviews have been prepared
under the '' Second Chance Grundtvig” project.

We are invited to action the organization that helped in the task.
Workshops create works were carried out with the participation of professional
visual artist.

Expression. Convicted are knows how to express themselves in
situations of social communication.

The prisoner through self-expression increases their self-esteem.
Actively participating in active forms of communing with the culture
raises their self-esteem and participate in the cultural life of society.
Inmates are looking for knowledge and increases motivation to learn

We have prepared a program in which prison inmates have the opportunity to:
Participate in another space.
Classes begin in the sports hall where the participants are relax.
This form is reduced barrier and distrust of the teacher.
