1. Opportunities For Growth

2. August of 2011, exactly 1 year and 2 months earlier, opportunity of personal
growth had knocked on my door.
I took the opportunity and joined toastmasters.
My journey of opportunity for growth began.
Like many of you, I joined toastmaster to enhance my communication skills
not just for the toastmasters community most importantly for the world
outside of toastmasters.

3. In this past one year , I have been making the of my best
efforts in learning to over the language barrier, overcome the
hesitation and above all overcome the fear of public speaking.
I have learnt and still am refining myself in these four aspects
of my life.
1. Emotionally
2. Personally
3. Professionally
4. Socially

4. 1. Emotionally
Toastmasters has provided a platform , a friendly
environment, to speak and express myself freely. I have come
to learn that…. I can also speak too.
This feeling has made me an emotionally stronger person in
life.

5. 2. Personally
Toastmasters has given me the opportunity to take my
second step, I talked to my mentor, if I was capable of
speaking at another club. And within a week, I was
speaking at the other club.
Today, in October I am very happy to share with you all
that, during my ninth speech today… I can say , I feel
like a 3C person
• Comfortable
• Confident
• Competent

6. 3. Professionally
Through toastmasters, I have learnt, how to say
things, body language, eye-contact and most
importantly how to evaluate with being respectful. I
took these skills & presented myself to my management
and I am happy to say that I have grown and improved
in my professional life.

7. 4. Socially
Before I joined toastmasters, my professional life took more
precedence over my social life. I shelled out of social
gatherings and preferred to work instead.
Toasmasters has made me realize that there is a life outside of
work. I have transformed from being just physically present …
to be able to contribute in a gathering.

8. Ladies and Gentlemen, Toastmasters is full of
opportunities for growth and absolutely rewarding as
long as you participate in the meetings. Take any
opportunity and begin your journey.
For all the experienced toastmasters in this
club, Jun, Jackie, Marlene – I want to thank you for
being such good role models, please continue to do
your good work.
For all the CC, CL achievers, I strongly invite to you all go
to the next level with me.
