Levels are used to define the heights of
architectural elements
They define floor heights, mezzanine heights, as
well as basement and roof heights
When you first open the default REVIT
User Interface, you are placed on
LEVEL1 of the new project
Notice that REVIT gives 2-default Levels:
Level 1, &
Level 2

Open an Elevation View – North,South, East, or
West View – and you see these 2-default Levels

In this View you see:
2 lines representing the 2 default levels, &
Each has a default name, symbol, and height

NOTE:
When you submit work D2L, make sure all your elevation
levels are identified on both ends

How to do this:
Click on the end of the
desired level
A small square appears
at the end
Place a check-mark in
that square
You should see the Level
head, its name, and its
height from the first
Level below

ZOOM in to the name
and symbol
Notice that the
default names are
Level 1 & Level 2
The default distance
between Levels is 10’
– 0”
Both can be changed
to fit your individual
project

Change level NAME:
Double-click on the
name – LEVEL 1,
Notice that a small
naming box opens just
to the right-bottom of
the name
Erase the name
Type in the name you
want to call this level
Click on “YES”
Then click in the screen
The new name appears
as you see here

Change the distance
between 2 Levels
Double-click on the
Height of the to be
changed
Notice that a small
Height box opens
Erase the Height
Type a new Height
Then click in the screen
The new height appears
as you see here
