5. H I S T O R Y The Ahoms were strong and intelligent rulers. They travelled to the rest of India and brought in Priests from ujjain , Musicians from Lucknow and Historians from Patliputra to their courts.
6. H I S T O R Y They built famous structures like The Shiv-Dol, Rang-Ghar, Kareng-Ghar, Talatal-Ghar and many Garh’s, which stand strong even today.
7. H I S T O R Y They gave Titles to their Generals based on the number of soldiers they controlled. Leader of100 was called “Saikia”, and leader of 1000 was called “Hazarika”. These titles exist even today.

11. CULTURE THE LOCAL LANGUAGE OF ASSAM IS ASSAMESE. ITS ORIGIN IS IN SANSKRIT. THE FESTIVALS OF ASSAM ARE LINKED TO AGRICULTURE. THESE ARE CALLED “BIHU” AND ARE CELEBRATED AT DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS IN JANUARY AND APRIL WITH MUSIC DANCE AND MERRY MAKING.
