This document discusses the short story "A Rose for Emily" and mental illness. It poses questions for a group to discuss about how Emily's town responded to her illness and how she exerted control over others. The conclusion states that the town's lack of concern for Emily worsened her condition and that her story should not be gossiped about given the serious impacts of mental illness.

• Perspective of the story reveals a lot about the
opinions of the narrator
• Town’s lack of genuine concern made the scenario
worse for Emily- the ending of the story might
have been avoidable if action were taken
• Mental illness is something that’s inappropriate as
a topic for gossip because of how seriously it
affects peoples’ lives
