1. Client Consultation
• Before you carry out any service you must give
the client a consultation. It is through this
consultation that will determine if you will carry
out a service and what precautions will have to
be taken. You will be looking for non-infectious
conditions and infectious conditions. You will
then have to carry out an open questioning
session as we need answers from the client.
2. Client consultation
• Non-infectious - psoriasis, eczema, sensitive skin, over processed
hair, may suspect metallic salts, cuts and abrasions/
• Infectious – head lice, impetigo, ringworm, and scabies.
Here is a list of question you need to ask.
• What style did you have in mind, use visual aids such as
photographs, magazines?
• What type of curl do you want e.g. soft, tight?
• Have you had any other chemicals on your hair, if so how long ago?
• Have you ever had an allergic reaction to any hairdressing
services?
• Do you have allergies to nickel, fruit or anything else?
• Are you on any medical medication? If so has your doctor giving you
any advice concerning chemical services.
• Are you pregnant?
