Steve Jobs was born in 1955 and adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, dropping out of college in 1972. He co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976, leading Apple's initial public offering in 1980 that raised $110 million, but was relieved of his duties at Apple in 1985. Jobs went on to found NeXT and acquire Pixar before returning to Apple as CEO in 1997, launching the successful iPod in 2001, iTunes Store in 2003, iPhone in 2007, and iPad in 2010 before resigning as CEO in August 2011 due to health issues and passing away in October 2011.
