6. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Computer overheating Keep saving progress and turn off computer for
intervals of time. To let the computer and yourself
have a break.
Losing work Make sure to save at every opportunity, to the
computer, H-Drive, USB and also send yourself your
work via E-mail.
Running out of time Follow schedule and if extra time is needed, do
work out of lesson i.e in the library/at home.
Difficult designs Some of my design ideas for my final products
might be more difficult to produce than I
anticipated. I may have to simplify my designs or
come up with totally new ones.
Lack of equipment
(Not having a computer)
In the times when I don’t have a computer I need
to make sure that I am up to date on my work or
am I a place where I can catch up easily.
No Photoshop If the computer that I do have doesn’t have
photoshop, I could still do my work by making
designs on paper, so could later make them on the
computer and I don't have to start from scratch
7. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Wrist injury Take breaks from the computer to relax your
wrists and prevent problems like strain and
carpal tunnel
Eye strain While taking breaks also relax your eyes by
staying away from screen with blue light.
Wires With working on computers a problem comes
with wires as they are tripping and fire hazards
as if they are not tidied someone can fall over
them an open wire can spark.
Computer overheating An overheating computer can also potentially be
a fire hazard.
Back ache Another problem that can occur with constant
use of a computer can be back ache. Make sure
to have breaks and either stand up or lie down
to help your back.
Tiredness Working all the time can easily result in tiredness
and for health reasons it is important to get rest
and again, not look at screens too long.
