“GETTING TO KNOW A NGO”
A non-governmental organization (NGO) is
“any non-profit, voluntary citizens' group which is organized on a
local, national or international level. Task-oriented and driven by
people with a common interest, NGOs perform a variety of service
and humanitarian functions. Some are organized around specific
issues, such as human rights, environment or health”.
In pairs students have to find an international NGO that
attracts them for some reason or another. There is a
comprehensive list available here

The presentation must include some information
concerning:
1. Main objectives
2. Timeline
3. Spread around the globe
4. Numbers or statistics
5. Names of VIPs concerning this NGO (founder, current
president...)
6. Links for more information (website, blogs, social
networks...)
