This document discusses verb conjugation in the third person singular present simple tense in English. It provides three rules for making verbs regular or irregular in the third person: 1) add -s to verbs ending in consonant, x, ch, sh, o. 2) remove y and add -ies to verbs ending in consonant + y. 3) add just -s to verbs ending in a vowel + y. An example daily routine is then constructed using these third person present simple verb forms.

Affirmative way
I
You wake up at 5 am
We (verb) (complement)
They
As you see the verb is not modified, the strusture
must go in this order:
1. Pronoun or noun
2. Verb
3. Complement
3. Third person
There some rules to modify the verb in third
person
1. Normally in the present tense we add S to the
end of the verb in third person he-she-it.
Eg:
she drinks some water
Verb 3rd Person
Speak Speaks
Play Plays
Give Gives
Make Makes
4. Irregular verbs
Irregular verbs in English in the present tense
follow very simple rules, the only change that is
made to these verbs is in the third person - for
he-she-it.
5. First rule
If the verb ends in SS, X, CH, SH or the letter O, we
add + ES in the third person.
She watches soap operas every afternoon.
He kisses his wife before he goes to work
Verb 3rd Person
Kiss Kisses
Fix Fixes
Watch Watches
Crash Crashes
Go Goes
6. Second rule
If the verb ends in a Consonant + Y, we
remove the Y and + IES in the third person.
Eg:
Isabel studies every night.
The baby cries all the time.
Verb 3rd Person
Carry Carries
Hurry Hurries
Study Studies
Deny Denies
7. Third rule
However if the verb finishes in Y but there`s a
vowel before Y, you only add S.
Eg:
She buys many things for birthday
He pays the bill
