1.
2. MEDIUM: FILM
Narrative: The whole of our film is narrative. Throughout our
film we used establishing shots are main character Fred.
The shots were of him walking towards a graveyard,
which included the locations of the house and
neighborhood. The first few scenes created for opening
enigmas like: where is he walking to?
3. MEDIUM: FILM
Camera Work: over the shoulder shots creates a sense of
being able to see what the character sees and creates
tension because you feel like you are sensing what they
sense. As well as this, the establishing shots show where
the character is and it shows what’s around him and
gives the audience a sense of the dangers around him.
4. MEDIUM: FILM
Sound: The soundtrack was added to the background to
create and build tension, and works well with the film as
the soundtrack starts to build up and leads to a few jump
scares, because of the soundtrack. The aim of it is to
build up the tension and make the main character feel
more isolated and the film to become more eerie. As well
as the music sound track we used, we also used sounds
such as a child giggling, this created enigma as the
audience will wonder where the noise is coming from and
what's going to happen with the noise.
5. GENRE: THRILLER
Mise-en-scene: Scenes in our film with the over shoulder
shot of the children are not well lit and portray darkness
which makes the atmosphere of the film much more
scarier and makes the audience want to tell the main
character. The children are wearing hoodies up, which
makes it cover most of the face, creating enigma to want
to discover who these children are.
6. GENRE: THRILLER
Editing: Transitions between the shots are relatively sudden
to surprise the audience, and they happen relatively
frequently to keep the audience guessing on what is
going to happen next. The titles and credits were added
in a title that would fit with the thriller film. The time that
is put on top of the video, adds tension because of the
late nightness and the time of day I think adds tension
because if its 6pm it is less scarier than 11pm at night.
7. GENRE: THRILLER
SFX: The title we used in the opening scenes were in a
simple font and was white so it would show better in the
black background, which shows boldness and adds
effect to the audience that those titles are important. We
used transition effects on the titles to fade in and our,
which shows eeriness and scares the audience as they
slowly show in the film to add effects.
