1. PREPOSITIONS OF DIRECTION
At:
We use this generally when talking about the point wherewe need to change
directions: at the traffic lights turn right
Into: go into the building and my office is on the left
Out of: when you go out of the supermarketthe restaurantisopposite
Past: go past the bar and the church is on the right
Through: go through the tunnel and you will see signs for the concert
Toward(s): if you go towardsthe centre you will see the turnoff
Across: go acrossthe junction and keep going (cross (verb) can beused: cross
the junction)
Over:go over the bridge and turn right
Round/around: go round the park and my house is on the first street, number

From: fromthe shopping centre walk in a straightline
Until: keep going until you get to the shopping centre
Up/down/along: go up the road to the junction. Go down the road untilthe
roundabout. Go along the road until you get to the traffic lights.
