Citrix is a platform build on top of Remote Desktop allows us to deliver
Windows application to any internet connected device.

This means that ACT! for Web is not your only option
You we can deliver the FULL ACT Desktop application to an IPAD, MAC,
Iphone with only a small plugin to install.
YOU, the consultant can have full access to the master ACT! database

9. ISSUES WITH SYNCHRONIZATION
Workstation or user issues can cause it to break
Security issues. Data is on the laptop and subject to theft or misuse.

10. REMOTE DESKTOP AS AN OPTION
Much less expensive
More prone to security issues

Ok for internal us or small implementations

11. CITRIX VS REMOTE DESKTOP
Citrix is built on top of Terminal Services (Remote Desktop)
Extra Layer of Security with Citrix
Citrix Supports for a variety of devices natively vs Mac and Windows only
for RDP
Citrix is better optimization for low bandwidth scenarios
A recent study shows that Citrix can use up to 73% less bandwidth on your
server than Terminal Services.

 No need to install, configure, or manage ACT! on user computers. All set-up
and administration is performed by others.
 In addition to Windows PCs, ACT! can be available from a range of computers

seen this one – resolved in later ACT Versions 2008 and higher
Email History Fails to be Recorded Using Outlook®
Integration in a Citrix® Environment – Easy to resolve
(qpath) kb 23701
Clipboard Operations Not Functioning in Citrix®
Environment kb25672 some what rare, but minor issue.
Resolved with reboot.
Error: "A generic error occurred in GDI+"
kb25903 much less common with 2013 but still happens – RDP

16. ACT! ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WITHIN CITRIX
ACT! Integrates with Office on the server. (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Good news is that this makes the entire environment portable and device
agnonstic.
Can present a challenge for email users
 Work around for email – APFW Client, OutlookIntegratoR1 – DesignR1
 User Hosted Exchange or MAPI
