Question four of my Evaluation: Who would be the audience for my media product and why?

1. The demographics and psychographics...

2. My magazine is generally targeted at a
male audience, this is as the
characteristics we typically associate
with the 'alternative rock' genre are
most suited for a stereotypical male
demographic.Typical connotations
could be passion, loyalty power and
aspiration .The use of male models
as the majority of my featured
images also attracts a mainly male
audience. However, to widen my
demographic I have also named
bands that hold a significantly
female fan base. LikeYou Me At Six.

3. The age of my demographic would be aimed at people from the
ages 15-24.This is a reflection of the fans of the bands on my
magazine as they are the people most likely to be interested.
Also the Focus on mainly new and mainstream bands wouldn’t
attract the older demographic (25+) as they are more likely to
be happy with their established tastes; of bands they know and
love already.

4. My magazine has very little to associate with religion, however due
to what the Rock genre connotes (especially metal which can have
traces of anti-Christian messages), the audience would probably
be thin of people with strong faith.
Due to their age, my magazines audience are at the social grade of D
or E, and possible C2, with the majority of them being students.

5. The audience of my magazine are likely to be
aspirers, people who long to be like the stars
they see on Television and listen to on
their IPods. They already play an
instrument like the Drums Or Guitar
and play covers of their favourite bands Day
And Night, sometimes they Blog about
these bands, or even post videos of
themselves (or their Own Band)
Imitating Their Idols.

6. The readers of my magazine Avoid
Conformity.And hate being just another
people in the crowd.They want to Stand
Out. Them and their their social group are
Loud, and Want To Be Heard, whatever
it is.They are Opinionated yet friendly.
They Love A Challenge and try new
things when they want whether or not its
dangerous to Discover, like Skateboarding or
skiing.
