Distance is the separation between positions, time is the period between events, and speed is a measure of how fast an object moves and changes position. Speed is calculated as distance divided by time and is commonly measured in meters per minute or kilometers per hour. Velocity differs from speed in that it includes both the speed of an object's motion as well as its direction.
