2. Here is a link to the website:

For the website, we decided to use ‘Wix’. The reason for this choice as
Wix was free, easy to use and to understand and it seemed to work
well and was a popular choice amongst other media students. When I
first started working on the website, it took a while to get use to how
to use/work it and where the tools are to use it. After a while, it soon
became very easy to use as tools were labelled well and just self
explanatory. One of the key benefits were that the software is free to
use, so no costs had to be made. In terms of layout, there were a
variety of templates you could use and then further along to adapt or
you could start from new and build and create an original design.
I think we have used it well as we have all the conventions of
what a band website has, for example, tour date
information, online store for band merchandise etc. Also, I think
it does look quite professional as again we have followed
conventions. We made use of a lot of effects, proving that we
had understanding of the software, and by using them it added a
bit of originality and style. The only problems we faced was
sometimes, on the school computers I couldn’t save the work
that I had to done to it, it wasn’t a wix fault it was purely
technology.
3. We used Premier Pro S4 for the main part of creating our video. Premier
pro S4 allowed us to capture our footage from our video camera and also
my Iphone 4, too construct our final music video on. This technology was
very beneficial to us as it allowed us to do lots of different styles of editing
which would be used by real music video editors. It allowed us to sync our
song along to the video we captured, so that we could get the right bits in
the right areas of our video. So that it would match the lyrics of the song
correctly, it enabled us to drag and cut different parts of footage we
captured to fit different sizes to the music video. Which was also a benefit
as we had lots of different footage. We were also lucky enough to have
software that allowed us to create different transitions effects, such as
dissolving and merging video’s. So that it would not be straight cut after
straight cut and give the music video a more professional look.
4. We used a Sony video camera along with My Iphone 4 to film are music
video on. The benefits of using them both was that they were portable
so could be moved around easily. My Iphone also came in handy as
when the camera on one occasion ran out of battery we were able to
rescue the shoot. Which would have cost us a days shooting if we did
not improvise with using my iphone. We all found out that it actually
has a better video quality then the Sony video camera it was also
better getting different shot angles as of the phone’s small size. It could
be changed easily unlike the video camera which was connected to a
tripod which could be detached. Although it could also be done we
were always on the move with our shoots so was easier to get the
iphone out then setting up the tripod.
However the Sony video camera was good when we
wanted to create static shoots and panning shots.
We were able to use the tripod to our advantage to
make each shot smooth unlike the Iphone, which
was a little jolty as it was being held by hand. I was
also able to use apps on my iphone, to create
different effects within our music video as you can
see. To make some scenes look vintage like the
beginning and also the tram journey back. The
iphone had specially designed apps that allowed us
to create these effects. I was also able to edit some
of the music video off my phone straight after
Overall I think we used both devices to the best of our abilities.
shoots which came in handy.
Although it would have been better if the Sony Camera was in
HD. So that it would look even more like a professional music Links to footage filmed on Iphone Uploaded to
video and that it would not capture our footage. I think should be Youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2VJ-
taken into consideration if we used these again. rnUoJM

6. I used my Cannon 450 DD with my 16-45mm lens as I wanted the
photos we took to look professional. I thought by using my SLR camera
it would give the best results then using a school digital camera. Which
I think are present in the shots we took for our digipack, as in my
opinion they look really professional. As we were able to zoom in using
the lens to get the correct size, it was also able to be connected to a
tripod so that we would know the photos were level and straight.
Another benefit from using my Cannon is that I was also able to
change the camera’s lighting and flash, so that it would take the best
quality photo using auto focus. Which is built into the camera and also
change the camera mode to portrait mode which would not be able on
a standard camera. It also has a vast storage capacity with a 1GB of
memory on the card, so when we took the photos we were able to
look back on the LCD display. Too see if we had got the shot we needed
which I thought was also helpful. I think we used the Cannon 450 DD
camera to the best of our abilities, and if we did the digipack again we
would use the same camera to take our photos.
