WHAT IS IT? It’s a systembasedon web applications, in whichallusershavetheopportunitytocreate, respond and interact. Itfacilitatesknowledgeconstructionthroughallthetoolsthatmakeit up: slideshare, wikipedia, blogs and others.
Whyisit so special? Itoffersopportunitiesnotonlytoreadinformation, butalsotoexpress ideas, feelings and thoughts in an oral orwrittenway. We can interact, we can respondtowhatweread, listen orsee. It’s a social space, enrichedwithinformationfromdifferentsources
What are someimplications? It requires new roles both from teachers and from students. Investigation needs to be encouraged. Critical thinking arises as we need to learn what sources are trustworthy and which ones are not Teachers will find new ways to design materials, activities and assessments.
